Accurate Data An error-free assembly process necessitates accurate data. A BOM (bill of materials), a pick and place file (also known as a centroid file), and related Gerber data should be included with each task. A DO NOT POPULATE (DNP) column should be included in the bill of materials if any components should not be populated on the PCB.

Make certain that you leave the proper footprints

Some components are offered in a variety of bundles. Check that the component footprint indicated in the BOM corresponds to the footprint on the printed circuit board (PCB).

Organise the Components

Individual containers, such as trays or bags, should be used to hold the components.
